What is OSQR Pay?
OSQR Pay is a mobile-first ZAR digital wallet. A digital wallet is the secure part of the platform that lets you access supported payment services and view activity from one balance.
What is a transaction?
A transaction is a payment, transfer, purchase, refund or reversal processed through OSQR Pay. Completed activity is recorded in your transaction history.
How do I add money to my wallet?
Choose Top up in the wallet and add money using an available payment method. The available option and amount are shown before you confirm.
How do I pay a transport fare?
Use the supported tap or scan payment option shown for that transport service. The fare is paid from your OSQR Pay balance and appears in your transaction history.
What does scan to pay mean?
Where a supported provider displays an OSQR Pay payment code, scanning it starts the payment flow. You review the details before authorising the transaction.
Where can I use Octopass?
Octopass connects to your OSQR Pay balance for supported transport and everyday purchases wherever Mastercard is accepted.
Can I send money to another person?
Yes. You can send money by phone or choose a saved beneficiary, then review the payment before confirming it with your transaction PIN.
What bills and services can I pay for?
The confirmed wallet scope includes airtime, data, power and utilities, cable TV and vouchers.
How do I know whether a payment went through?
Completed payments appear in your transaction history with the amount, direction and payment details available for review.
How is my wallet protected?
OSQR Pay uses protected sign-in sessions and requires your transaction PIN before supported outgoing wallet payments are completed.
Can I save people I pay regularly?
Yes. Saved beneficiaries keep regular recipient details available so you do not need to enter them again for every payment.
